Welcome to my new blog! Back in March I decided that I would start walking to work and back, a distance of nearly 4 miles each way. I am not too fond of rain and getting soaked, so I set up limits to walk on dry days only, at least dry on my way to work, so I didn't have to sit in my office in wet clothes all day! It didn't matter so much walking home ad I could always take a hot shower. No-one could have predicted just how dry this year would be, so I have walked an awful lot of days! This obsession with walking has led to me to also walking to a lot of other places. Shortly after starting on this healthy campaign, I thought, 'Maybe I ought to list the different species of bird I see whilst on foot'. And that is where my new bird list started! My 'On Foot' list is made up of all the birds I have seen on foot while walking FROM my home. Obviously species seen from my house count, as do birds I have previously seen on foot from home.
